Easter, 2010-- Colten ~ Sketches In Thyme --Top 3 over at Lasting Memories

Good morning everyone!!!  It's Thursday and time for another awesome sketch challenge over at Sketches In Thyme..  I'm sad to say that this will be my last post as a Design Team Member here at Sketches In Thyme...   I have been on this wonderful team since inception and I have thoroughly enjoyed it, but I feel like it's time to step down and make way for some new faces and fresh talent.  But don't worry, I'll be back, but this time as a stalker instead!!!  LOL...
Okay on with the challenge!!!  Our sketch this week is from My Crop Room and here it is..

And, is it just me, or have the last 2 sketches for Team A seemed hard for you too?!! I guess that's why it's a challenge!! Right...   Anyway this one turned out to be a piece of cake...  And I will be using this one more for those pages where you have memorabilia, like programs, vacation pamphlets, napkins and so forth and so on!  Because if you look at this sketch it looks like a big envelope, doesn't it?!  And I think it would be fun to make an envelope out of it to hold all of those precious items you want to keep...   I should have thought of this earlier...  But I will be back with another layout using this sketch for sure!!!
Anyway here are a few close ups of my layout of sweet little GS Colten on his first real Easter Egg Hunt...  He was 17 months old last Easter and was having a blast..  Notice the little boo-boo on his forehead..  I think he has a permanent knot there where he has hit it so many times... Poor baby!!!

Okay here you can see a close up of this beautiful BoBunny Gabrielle Paper and Die cut... The little chipboard is from Basic Grey and you can see some of my many buttons....

Here I used the Spellbinders Shapeabilities Pendants - Fair Isle for the frames around the smaller photos!!  I sponged the frame with some Tim Holtz Distressing Ink..

Here's the other frame..

Here is a chipboard journaling block from Basic Grey and the flourish is from BoBunny Cardstock Stickers-Grow Love..

Here are a few other challenges this layout will qualify for...
Colour Create Challenge ~ Pink, Blue and Brown
The Paper Variety ~ Use a Number on your Project
Top Tip Tuesday ~ Open Challenge

Here is a list of scrappy things I used on this layout...
Bazzill Cardstock

Basic Grey - Olivia Collection
SU Sage Shadow Cardstock
Basic Grey Chipboard
BoBunny Cardstock Stickers
Tim Holtz Distressing Ink

And here is a sneak peek of tomorrow's post... you won't want to miss this....

Exciting News!! ~ And Top 3 over at Charisma Cardz!!

WOW, do I have some news for you... I've joined 2 more Design Teams, and I'm so excited... I love this retired life!!!  And the best thing about this is I've either been on the team before, or I've been on a team that was sponsored by this team, so I'm familiar with it and I love it!!  Now that I've completely confused you, please just sit back and relax while I try to explain myself.. and I'm sorry, but it's going to be rather lengthy!!

First of all I have excepted an invite back on the Practical Scrappers Design Team..  I have had the pleasure of designing with them before, but that little nasty thing called work got in the way, and I had to step down...  I'm so excited that I now have the opportunity to rejoin this wonderful and informative team...  Their April sketch challenge is going on and they have 2 beautiful sketches..  I had to play along..
Here's my layout...

I really love the way this one turned out!!  I haven't scrapped a wedding layout in a long time and it felt good to do this one...  When I saw the first sketch posted over there, it had wedding written all over it to me....  Here's the sketch I used...

This one is by Jannike and it's beautiful!!!

I used the new BoBunny paper on this one along with Prima Flowers, Dusty Attic- Chandelier, Heart Chipboard, Heart Locket, Lace, Stick Pins, Postcards, Thickers, and Pearls..

And here's the second layout, which is just as beautiful...

This one is be Pia..

So if you've got some spare time, head on over there and take the challenge and then email your layout to the email address given over there... you just might be chosen as a favorite!!!
Also will be submitted over at
Charisma Cardz Challene ~ Wedding/Anniversary

Okay, now the other Big News!!!  I have been asked to be on the Diecut Divas Design Team/Creative Cuts & More!!!  If you haven't visited this site you just have to go and take a look around...  Terry, the owner, has just about any diecut, card shape, or box, in just about any color or texture you can imagine or ever want...  I've had the privilege of working with Terry before, she is soooo sweet, and I absolutely love her die cuts..  And just so you know, they are a very nice cardstock weight, and the boxes are so easy to put together that even your children can do it... It comes cut and scored so all you have to do is crease and tape...  My granddaughter Savannah loved helping me put these Halloween Treat Bags together and decorate them...

Here you can see all of 'em we made, I embossed "Trick or Treat and she added all of the stickers...
She had a blast!  And it was so nice because it was like she made them, and was so proud to hand them out to her little classmates!!

Here's the one I made for her..

But remember, these are not just for Halloween, they could be decorated for any occasion and they come in so many colors and textures...  be sure and check out her other boxes!!

How about getting an acetate box and making a cute baby gift like this!!  I filled it with things like nail clippers,  Little nose sucker outer.. (you know what I'm talking about :o))... a thermometer, and I tied it up with pacifiers..

Here are a few Christmas Cards I made using the DieCut Scallop Card

Another Christmas Card...
I just love the feel of this velvet paper..

Anyway, this is just a drop in the bucket of all the goodies Terry has over at Creative Cuts and More...  You can visit Diecut Divas and get all kinds of wonderful ideas on how we decorated some of the wonderful things she has..... or you could come up with an idea of your own, which I would love to see!  Just remember these are perfect little projects to do with your kids and they make great gifts...
Oh, I almost forgot...  Be sure and get some Killer Red or White Tacky Tape when your ordering.... It's the perfect tape to keep these little boxes together!!
I can't show you the little Easter Box I made today.. but I will sometime this month..
Thats all I got for know!!!  I told you it was going to be long post!!!!
Thanks for dropping by!!!
Have a wonderful weekend!!!

Hi everyone!!  It's Thursday and that means it's time for another wonderful sketch challenge over at Sketches In Thyme.  This weeks sketch is from wittyliving and I must say was a little intimidating at first...  Here's the sketch...
But after I chose my photos of little GS Colten, I turned the sketch and just let my imagination work with the photos...  I also did the challenge over at Inspire Me, which, along with using mostly Webster's Pages, we were to use Webster's Trim and do some fussy cutting and layering...  Well, with a little boy layout, that was HARD!!  I can see using WP for little girls, but BOYS!!!  Well, I did the best I could.  It doesn't have a lot of layers like I usually have, but I think I accomplished what I was going for!!  Here are a few close ups....

Everything on this layout is from Webster's Pages except the SU Old Olive CS, buttons, twine and letters.  Here you can see some of my fussy cutting.   All of the flowers are cut from Wonderfall ~ Count Your Blessings.

More flowers, and the little brown borders, butterfly, journaling block, and the ruler are all stickers from WP.  You can also see the trim/ribbon which I gathered,  and one of the buttons tied with twine..

Here are a few challenges this layout will qualify for..
